Our Last Flagstaff Show

{setting up for the show}
We loved playing on Sundara's stage. The acoustics are amazing in that place. I guess when we say our last show, we mean our last show for now. For our next tour, we'll set up shows in Oregon, California, and Arizona.

spring wardrobe

My spring wardrobe consists almost entirely of clothing found in downtown Flagstaff. The Basement Marketplace is good for finding Urban Outfitters-esque pieces. I love Rainbow's End selection because they always have cute and classy dresses and sweaters. I know that when we are in Portland I'll feel nostalgic for these boutiques.

The Flagstaff music scene has become a lot more hip in the past few months. People are starting to realize that house shows are cooler than our downtown venues (mostly the local bars). Its been fun playing at Casa del Mar and House of the Rising Sun. This local music scene is created by a group of hip people who know how to have a good time.

tea at sundara

So we stopped at Sundara to check out the progress on their remodeling.
The tea house is up and running!
We played our Sunsula to listen to the room's acoustics.
We are stoked to play our show here on the 29th.
Can't wait to showcase our Sansrealist art.

a keg, some hipsters, and a turtle piñata

Sure it was sad to see this little guy get smashed to pieces, but it was definitely funny. As we stood on the dark steps of the neighbors stairwell overlooking the massacre, we had an enlightening conversation with our friend, Andreas. We talked about how morbid this whole piñata business can be at times. People tend to choose piñatas that represent objects or characters that they love. Think of this: a large group of young children who for the most part all love Mickey Mouse, smashing the hell out of a Mickey Mouse piñata. You see, they love little Mickey, but they really want the candy inside of his belly. Poor guy, his life sold for thirty pieces of chocolate. Thats some sick shit.

Anyway, someone would do well selling effigy style piñatas. You know, like a George Bush piñata hanging in someones backyard with drunk people swinging blunt objects at it. Classic.

You Are Here.

{Photos by Teague}
We are really trying to grasp this new life we've created. Everything seems surreal. These days, the sun melts into the moon and nighttime fades into morning. Alli wrote a ukelele song while Teague took photos of us and one of her lines says it the best, "I am floating in a different world, down the stream I go." Thank goodness we have hip friends taking hip photos. Thanks, Teague.

{Photos by Holly Ann Young}
So we were about to bake some pies with Stephanie Says when Holly convinced us to partake in a quick photo session. Good idea, Holly. You know what else was a good idea? Using a film camera. Tops.

Alone With Montgomery Sloan

Monti is the best kitty in the world. We got to spend all day with her due to the snow. We cuddled, played, ate dinner together... Though, I think she's starting to miss the hand that feeds her {Danielle.}

Can't wait to shine a black light on this one.

Farewell to Flagstaff

We're packing the suitcases. Cleaning the apartment. Searching for a Jeep Cherokee. Putting our affairs in order. Portland bound.
